A genset, a goat, and a generator failover

The failover worked. The goat did not read the runbook.
The automatic failover did exactly what it should. The site stayed up. The part nobody designed for was the goat that had taken shelter in the genset housing.
Field reality is messier than any spec. The best you can do is make the digital part boringly reliable so all the attention is free for the part that is not.
The site stayed online. The goat was fine. The runbook got a new footnote.
Field-tested notes on running infrastructure, monthly. No hype.
