Why we left amber behind

Amber sat between green and red in our status palette and meant, in practice, "someone should probably look at this." Which is to say it meant nothing actionable.

It was also invisible to a meaningful share of colour-blind operators. A status that some of your team literally cannot see is not a status.

We replaced the colour with a state that carries meaning on its own, and let shape and text do the work colour was failing to do.
